Welcome to the Peloton Legends Blog

Updated: Sep 3, 2021

Peloton Legends: Ranking the Top 100 Cyclists of the Modern Era was first published in May of 2020. The list of cyclists in the book included their results through the end of the 2019 season. I obviously knew that the ranking of the cyclists as it appeared in the book would become outdated fairly quickly, yet I still decided to move forward with publishing Peloton Legends as I felt the history behind the ranking system, and the system itself - the races included and the points assigned to them - would change very little over time. I still feel that the best way to share that information is in a book format. That said, I also wanted to keep everything fresh and up-to-date and that is why I also chose to create this companion website. Each year I will update this website with the new Top 100 Cyclists list after the season has concluded. You can find this by navigating to the Top 100 Cyclists page (top toolbar if you are on a computer, or the pulldown menu if you are on a mobil device). That PDF now includes the results through the the end of the 2020 season.

It is through this blog where I will update changes to the rankings throughout the current season. Aside from simply sharing updates to the scoring system, I'll also be making race predictions, writing more history articles and rider biographies, and sharing some of my other favorite websites, gear, and events. Basically, anything that touches on the sport of professional road cycling might be something I cover here. As always, if anyone wants to get in touch with me, please email me at eric@pelotonlegends.com
